I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Washington state and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in California. I specialize in counseling with individual adults, adolescents and children, couples and families. I am also available for supervision to graduate students and those entering into the field of counseling and psychotherapy and needing individual supervision in Washington.
I started private practice in Puyallup, WA, in 2003. Prior to this time I worked as a Psychotherapist/counselor specializing in children's therapy, primarily working with children who have been traumatized by sexual abuse or other forms of trauma. In my private practice I have broadened my experiences and scope of practice and enjoy working with families, couples, and individuals with a wide array of concerns and challenges, from short-term and solution focused to longer term and more challegenging issues. My more recent interests have included chronic pain and chronic illnesses and the effects on mental health and well being. I am happy to consult with you and coordinate with your medical providers. I have recently obtained my license as a professional clinical counselor in California and am building my practice in California and the San Diego area.
I am an interactive, solution-focused therapist. My therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, I work with each individual, couple or family to help them build on their strengths and attain the growth they are committed to accomplishing.
